Given where things stand today, my predictions for the Pac-12 season are as follows: North1. Oregon 2. Stanford 3. Washington State 4. Washington 5. California 6. Oregon State South1. Southern California 2. Utah 3. Arizona State 4. Arizona 5. UCLA 6. Colorado For your Big 12ers, CU will be one of the youngest teams in the nation and it very well could show this season. The Buffs will have brand new starters at QB, RB, FB, TE, and all WR spots despite a few OL starters returning. There might not be any seniors starting on offense and just one or two juniors in that regard. Not looking forward to this season and I'm usually a huge sunshine pumper for the Buffs.

Phil Steele's Top 40 rankings for the Pac-12 are as follows:
#37 Utah #18 Stanford
Athlon shows the following:
#25 Washington #21 Stanford
USC and Oregon are probably Top 10 teams this year.

Switch Washington and Washington St. in the north and ASU over Utah.

Of course, I'm very curious to see how Washington State does with Leach calling the plays. When he got to Tech, he was an unknown commodity really, and he was transitioning a "3 yards and a cloud of dust" team. So it took him two seasons to really get the fire started with that offense. He's walking into a better setup at Wazoo with the personnel. He should be able to hit the ground running.
All in all, I expect much of the same as he had at Tech. He will put a scare in to the contending teams, he will lose some games he shouldn't, but I think he'll get them to a bowl game this year.

I might be expecting too much out of the Cougars but they have two good QBs and some big & fast WRs. I'd be surprised if they don't contend for a bowl game this season.

www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=3843&SPID=255&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=205427637&DB_OEM_ID=600A former Buff is in the CFB Hall of Fame. I wonder if this means CU will have special uniforms when they honor Wooten perhaps this coming season. Wooten will be honored against ASU and that is a thursday night game which would be perfect for special uniforms such as the black helmets against USC and UCLA last season. CU had a very good team during the 1950's and only OU had a better decade during that decade.

Changing uniforms to salute one of the greats of your school would be cool.

Changing uniforms to salute one of the greats of your school would be cool. Yes it would be. I believe the uniforms would match the ones that Wooten played in. The jersey would most likely be grey with black numbers then the shoulder pad would be gold with black numbers. Pants would be white. And the helmets would be gold as usual. There also has been talk of Nike Pro Combat uniforms for the Buffs and it could happen this season as well.

I'm not for all the uniform changes...but I like throwback jersey's. I loved it when OU did it in 2003(I think it was).

espn.go.com/blog/pac12/post/_/id/39744/new-asu-offense-suits-marshall-just-fineThat Marshall was very underrated in the Pac-12 last season due to ASU's pass heavy offense. He still got over 1,000 yards and 18 rushing TDs and given that ASU will be more of a run first team this season, he could come out of nowhere and surprise people. The Pac-12 South has some good RBs especially Utah's John White who ran for 1,500 yds. Since UCLA has ASU's OC from last season, watch for Jonathan Franklin to see if he can match Marshall's numbers. CU has a capable RB in Tony Jones but he's replacing Rodney Stewart who was a VERY productive 2* RB for the Buffs in the Big 12 and Pac-12. Very big shoes for a smallish RB like Stewart. I'm not too up to date on USC or Arizona's RBs. I will focus on the North RBs in another post. Then I'll do QBs, WRs, and TEs.

I will focus on the returning North RBs sooner than later but the Pac-12 ESPN blog had some interesting numbers: espn.go.com/blog/pac12/post/_/id/39836/official-returning-startersYou can see why I'm not too high on my Buffs for this upcoming season. I didn't know that ASU had one less starter returning. I'm going to have to modify my South predictions. At least ASU has a returning offensive skill player in Marshall while CU has zero full time starters unless you count Nick Kasa at TE who was that highly touted DE before deciding that he'd get more playing time as a TE.

Unless they open it up on the sides some more, it would seem to be like a sauna to me.

Unless they open it up on the sides some more, it would seem to be like a sauna to me. CU played at ASU while still in the Big 12 and it was over 100 at kickoff at night...the Buffs cramped up in the second half and lost that game. Can't wait for this:
