I'll simplify Archie's grouping into three categories.
1) OSU Baylor OU (may or may not stay in this group. i'm not sure BB's wobbly delivery will be effective in the Big 12)
2) TCU (no offense) KSU (no defense) Texas Tech Texas (don't count them dead yet)
3) West Virginia Kansas Iowa State (worse than Kansas!)

So far, Combs has under performed even my expectations. I assume you're aware that Combs hasn't seen the field yet this year, so in that regard he has definitely under performed. Yes. My understanding is he didn't make the 2-deep. He didn't travel to Rice. So, at best he's not on the traveling squad.... possibly suspended, internally. In my opinion, this guy's a lazy blowhard.

Here's the remaining schedule for Texas, with no more non-conference games left to play. Assumed wins in bold, toss up games in italics. They're at 1-2 today, how do they get to 6 wins and a bowl game?
vs Kansas St @ Iowa St vs #14 Oklahoma* @ TCU vs Kansas @ West Virginia vs #11 Oklahoma St vs #25 Texas Tech @ #20 Baylor
OU, OSU, Baylor or TCU all have mobile QB's and great running games, and only one of them is at home. Based on what we've seen so far, I don't see a win from any of those four games. Kansas and Iowa State should get them to 3 wins. So can they sweep the three games against KSU, @wvu and Tech?
Personally, I think it comes down to THIS week. They have Kansas State at home, a team they haven't played well against, followed by a bye week to iron out some wrinkles, adjust to the new DC and get some key players healthy again. They're certainly capable of winning, and KSU is vulnerable right now, so they're not down for the count just yet. However, things will get REALLY ugly if they lose this game!

Well chances are MJM probably won't play this year. Although nothing has been officially announced there are rumors that he is injured. I think the fact that he tore his ACL and had surgery are confirmed, and not rumor. I just know it's amazing what doctors and rehab specialists are able to do these days, and wondered what were his chances of playing. He's a big loss. I'm very interested in the play of Marquel Combs, as well. He's certainly highly-touted. He also runs his mouth a lot, and as a rival fan I'd like to see him smacked around.... a lot. It looks like we're not going to get to see Marquel Combs after all. He has been given his release to transfer out of the conference.
