That sounds pretty bad. I don't really know much about the guy. My understanding is he broke into his ex girlfriends car to retrieve his cap & gown for graduation of all things, and that Miami-Ohio suspended him and he didn't graduate. I doubt that he's already been there for three years otherwise he probably couldn't redshirt this year and have two years remaining. That's a sad story. It doesn't matter that he hasn't been there for three years. He's been alive the last three years, and apparently run up quite the rap sheet.

Puppet, you're missing a few wins in there. You're standings add up to a 42-48 record. Unlesss I misread it, you picked both teams to lose the Baylor-TCU, TCU-KSU and Oklahoma-Oklahoma State games. (How'd you overlook that last one? )

If you were to go with the home teams in those games, which is what I would guess, then TCU would beat Baylor, KSU would beat TCU, and Oklahoma State would beat Oklahoma.
That would make Oklahoma State the conference champ at 8-1. Kansas State would move up 3rd at 7-2, with a tiebreaker over Texas. TCU would move into 5th place alone ahead of Baylor at 5-4.

TCU lost five conference games at home last year. Now they have to play all of those teams on the road, and everyone expects them to contend for the title.
I'm hearing rumblings that the frogs locker room is a mess, and it starts with Pachall.

I do know that they were playing 16 freshmen at some point, but this year they aren't going to be much better than last year due to where those games are played.

Problem was, people overestimated him last year.

I think people are high on TCU because the Frogs bring back the most experience at QB.

I also think it's a statement about the relative weakness at the top of the conference. If we had national contender in the conference, people would not at all be calling TCU a conference championship contender. However, the general consensus around the country is that 10-2 or 9-3 could be enough to win the Big 12 this year, therefor TCU might be good enough to win the conference.
I don't think TCU has quite enough in the tank to win it this year. I think it'll come down to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. After that, I predict a lot of 5-4 and 4-5 teams.

Looks like Tech is going to have the same QB issues that Oklahoma State had last year. We may start 3 QBs over the course of the season. Michael Brewer, the redshirt sophomore and heir apparent, has an injured back and is basically out indefinitely. That leaves two true freshman battling for the starting job. I see all three getting significant playing time, assuming Brewer isn't out all season. A true freshman leading a team that has roster holes to begin with is asking for trouble. I think I may have to back down a little from my optimism. By the end of the season, we might be able to get something cookin', but we could struggle quite a bit early on.

I'm very interested in the play of Marquel Combs, as well. He's certainly highly-touted. He also runs his mouth a lot, and as a rival fan I'd like to see him smacked around.... a lot. Duly noted So far, Combs has under performed even my expectations.

Three weeks into the season, I see a few tiers of teams developing...
Oklahoma State Oklahoma Baylor
These 3 should duke it out for the title.
Kansas State Texas Tech TCU
I don't see any of these 3 beating any of the contenders, but any one of these 3 could possibly run the table against the rest of the conference
West Virginia Texas
Struggle to get to bowl eligibility.
Iowa State Kansas
Only one conference win between the two of them.

So far, Combs has under performed even my expectations. I assume you're aware that Combs hasn't seen the field yet this year, so in that regard he has definitely under performed.
