Louisiana Tech at Kansas: This is KU's first big chance to get that ever-elusive win over an FBS opponent. It's been a few years.
Maryland at West Virginia: Is WVU the team that barely beat William & Mary, or are they the team that hung tough in Norman?
ULM at Baylor: O/U is at 74.5, and I think it'll go over! Should be a shootout that the Bears win by 28.
Texas State at Texas Tech: Like archie has pointed out, now that they've hurdled TCU, Tech has an amazing schedule for the next month.
Kansas State at Texas: I think these are two teams with completely different mindsets and different levels of toughness. Texas is always talented, but they're not as talented as the recruiting services would have you believe (right, archie?). K-State continues to own Texas and gets one last win over Mack.

Maryland is a bad team, this is a game WV should handle if they have any hopes this season. WV's problem is just too much roster turnover, I think they win, but probably a little closer than it should be.
KSU-Texas is where all the attention is. It's the make or break game of the year for Texas and Mack Brown. If they don't win this week, they have to pull a legitimate upset somewhere along the way just to avoid the indignity of missing a bowl game! Yet, Mack Brown will tell ya the team's goal of winning the Big 12 is still on the table. Let the absurdity of that sink in for a second! His team has given up 850 yards rushing over the last two games, and he's talking about winning the Big 12 championship! I'm stunned! I cannot believe somebody is that out of touch with the situation. He's the emperor with no clothes acting like everyone else is too blind to see his stylish threads! I think Kansas State wins, they're the mentally tougher, more fundamentally sound team. Yes, Texas does have some dangerous players who can burn you if you're not careful, but I think Snyder's discipline and preparation win the day.

In case you think I've gone crazy with all my Texas ridicule this week... Andy Staples is making a lot of the same points. sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20130919/texas-longhorns-mack-brown-walkthrough/?sct=hp_t12_a2&eref=sihp-Like I said, Mack Brown is the emperor with no clothes, he's saying wild, outlandish things that nobody in his inner circle has the nads to call him out on -Texas' talent level is not where it used to be, their recruiting, scouting, development and S&C are not up to par, he was flat out asleep at the wheel for too long to see the changes in the sport around him -Rival programs, inside the conference and out, have passed Texas by The reason why I believe Texas is going to keep losing is that they're NOT doing anything differently than before. They're saying and doing all the same things as before, but they're telling anybody who will listen that the results are going to be different because they're trying harder this time. Well, you can throw all the money, all the focus, all your practice, and all your staff resources at a bad process all you want, but if that process doesn't change then the results won't change either!

Will this K-State/Texas game look like Collin Klein's breakout game in 2010?
Will Sams carry the ball 15 times? Will Hubert match the Ole Miss RB's numbers? (these two guys are amazingly similar in size)
Will Texas break mentally, or come together to fight?

Sorry I missed this week but I have been in Cuba and had no internet. What a hole! Average income is $25-30 per month. Yes you read that right.

A streak breaks as Texas gets a rare win against the Wildcats. Texas is bad this year, unfortunately for KSU they are even worse, at least at this point in the season.

I saw two equally bad teams. Texas got the takeaways, and that made the difference.
I was sickened to think of what kind of longterm health impacts might befall David Ash. Clearly, risking a young man's life is not worth winning a football game.

What a wretched weekend for the Big 12! We are in for a looooong season!
West Virginia is all sorts of awful right now! Maryland is not a good football team, and they flat out pimp slapped West Virginia. Wow, I don't even know what else to say!
Texas got a big, big win, but their work is far, far from over. As I repeatedly said last week, Texas has 3 games they must win just to get to 6-6 in my estimation, and this game was only one of those 3. Baylor and Oklahoma State would put 70 points on Texas right now. Oklahoma would blow out Texas right now too. TCU is just a terrible matchup for Texas, mobile QB and a stout defense. I'll go ahead and elevate West Virginia to a probably win for Texas, so the Texas Tech game on Thanksgiving night could be the difference in a bowl or no bowl.
Speaking of Tech, I don't know what Kliff is doing with his QB's right now. He pulled Baker Mayfield for ineffectiveness after starting 13-18 and 140+ yards and a TD and an INT, but stuck with Davis Webb while he was 19-41 for 300 yards 1 TD and 2 INT's. That doesn't make sense to me.

Things don't get much easier for KSU. The Wildcats next two opponents are Oklahoma State and Baylor which are probable losses. I'll go out on a limb and say the game against OU is probably a loss too. That makes the game against Tech very interesting. It definitely doesnt leave any room for an upset loss down the road.

The Big 12 is having a problem we haven't seen in probably 15 years. We got no quarterbacks! Seriously, only Baylor and Oklahoma State have a legit QB. OU, Tech, KSU and WVU are unsettled at the position. TCU is settled, but only because of injury. ISU and Kansas don't have one, and Texas had a mediocre one that also has concussion problems. There's just plain inexperience or lack of talent at the QB position all around the conference.

You're right on about K-State. I expect them to beat KU, WVU and ISU. That leaves them looking for one more win to become bowl eligible. Tech might be their best shot there.

When is the TCU-KSU game? That's in Manhattan, right? I don't think TCU is quite as good as we thought coming into the season. Their defense is good, but the offense is not clicking. KSU should win that game if it's at home.

I don't expect any of the next 3 games to be easy for Tech... @ku, ISU and @wvu. We're too inexperienced, and thin at the depth chart, to win these games going away. I do expect to win the 3 games though.
Beyond that, we're gonna really need our QB position to get settled if we're going to challenge for anything more than that. We close with @ou, OSU, KSU, Baylor, @texas. Today, I'd say the KSU game is a pick 'em and the other 4 are likely losses. If we get a lot of improvement at QB in the next 4-6 weeks, then we might be able to win 2 or 3 of those games.
