OU - QB play was, "eh". I loved the mobile QB option. lol, yeah, I know, but hey, it's new to us here at OU. Defense was absolutely solid, imo. Rushing attack came along after the first qtr. OSU - Rough start, but I think Walsh is the starter from here on out. OSU's defense looks better with the "attack" mode instead of the "bend but don't break" method. Lewis impresses me everytime I watch him as a defender. I have to ask though, who is OSU's Go-to Receiver? UT - Struggled. I don't see them winning the conference. Ash doesn't look much better than last year. They just over powered a weak UNM team, imo. KSU - OUCH! Granted, NDSU was better than W&M and Wofford. BU - Nice win, but I'd have been shocked if they hadn't. TCU - Impressed me. At least when Boykin is in the game. ISU - didn't watch the game. still, tough loss to a FCS team. Tech - Looked scared coming out of the gate. Their walk-on QB is a stud though. KK got lucky with him, imo. WVU - Struggled against W&M...really?

I think everyone will run on Texas again this year If anyone saw the first half, many points were left on the field by NMSU so the 7 points given up aren't that impressive. We'll get some sacks this season but will give up big runs. Those will account for the losses this season. I like Texas running backs. Texas can beat any team on their schedule and are favored in all but one game this season. They will out talent everyone but the big plays given up will keep them from having a stellar season. Impressive performances: OSU, TCU (and KU ) Totally messed up: KSU, ISU (bad start for the Farmageddon rivals) Meh: Texas, OU, Tech, Baylor, WV

I was encouraged by Tech. Offense couldn't finish drives early on, but really came on late. Pass rush looked good, but still worried about lack of turnovers. The run blocking scares me, if we couldn't run on SMU, then we have problems. Baker Mayfield looked great at QB, brought tons of swagger. He will have growing pains and make some bad mistakes, but overall gave me something to be excited about. All I'm looking for out of Tech right now is a reason to be excited, and I think we have at least that much. I ain't exactly booking tickets to Pasadena for New Year's, but I think it's fair to say there's reason for optimism.
I was also impressed with TCU. They played a team with an OL and DL that is better than anything they'll see in the Big 12 this year, and they had every chance to win that game. They just couldn't quite grab that go ahead score. This game will pay dividends as the season goes on.
OSU had a sluggish start, but the talent shined through in the end. Miss State has good talent on the lines, but no playmakers. With Walsh settled at QB, this team will do big things this season.
I didn't realize NDSU is the 2x national champion in the FCS. They're a better team than many of the low level FBS teams. Kansas State will have some growing pains this season. The offense could struggle the first half of the season, but I expect them to be a different team by the second half of the season.
Those were the only games I got to see.

Don't forget that TCU played without Fields. He's a game-changer.

I was disappointed for TCU. If they could've punched that drive in for a touchdown with about 7 minutes to go, I think they would've held on. They had LSU on the ropes early in the 4th quarter with a chance to take the lead. One bad play killed a promising drive, and they could never get the momentum back. If they play that way the rest of the season, they'll really push for the conference title.
