The guy is a jerk, in case you didn't already know.
---------- Heading into the weekend, wide receiver Dominic Walker switched his pledge from Nebraska to Auburn. It was hard for Walker to make that call to Nebraska on Friday, but he knew he had to do it. ... Even his mom was afraid for him when he made the call to head coach Bo Pelini and his staff on Friday. "It was a very tough decision. They were [mad]. They were very mad. But I thought I had to call them like a real man should," Walker said. "But yeah, they were mad. Coach Pelini said, 'Best of luck, you're going to need it.'" Wide receivers coach Rich Fisher also was in on the call. Wide receivers coach Rich Fisher also was in on the call. "Coach Fisher said, 'I can't believe you,'" Walker said. "It was really awkward." Orlando Sentinel

I don't believe they will ever be a truly premium team under Pelini.

I don't believe they'll ever be a truly premium team under any coach again. College football doesn't work they way it did in the 70's, 80's or even the 90's. It's a different business today.

I don't know about that, but I believe they have a very tough road ahead in successfully recruiting in the Big Ten.

NU just got a couple in state boys and their recruiting class has now moved from around #70 to around #35.

Not hard to believe.
First, the game after which this happened is proof that Nebraska fans aren't some special breed of super fan. when their team trails by 21 at halftime, many of them leave, just like any other fan.
Second, it's unfortunate for Bo that he was caught on tape when he didn't believe he was being recorded. Still, this is his personality.
Bo has issued a public apology for the 2011 comments, siting the emotional series of events leading up to them. His problem is that his emotions are rarely in check. This boorish behavior is the norm, and not befitting a big time head coch.
In related (literally) news, I hope you all saw Carl Pelini order his QB to spike a ball to kill the clock.... Wait for it.... On fourth down.

People's tolerance level is directly proportional to their happiness level. Fans are happy when they're winning, so they'll put up with a coach who's a raging A-hole. Fans are unhappy when they're losing, so they tolerate the guy much, much less than before.
