I was really surprised by Tech's lack of run-pass balance. They didn't call a run through the first two drives, and finished at 50 passes, and 27 rushes (including Doege's 3 rushing attempts from pass breakdowns)

I didn't see the point of going for the blocked punt. The roughing penalty is all on the players though, even with the inherent risk of a punt block play, it's still not designed to mash the kicker like that. So the blame for the penalty goes on the players. Of course I didn't like Klein being in the game so late like that, but that's mostly just anger at being beaten so badly, not at him or the coaches directly.
I commented to a buddy during the game that playing against Kansas State is like trying to wrestle a python. You put up a fight early and it doesn't seem so bad, but the more and more you fight the more and more they tighten their grip. Tech played fairly well, but the longer the game went on and the more mistakes we made just tightened KSU's grip. A 13-10 game at halftime is a close, evenly matched game, but just a couple mistakes and it's a 17 point game, then a 24 point game, and so on.
