I may very well puke before this game kicks off, I'll be so worked up.
WVU averages 78 offensive snaps per game. That number HAS to come down against the 'Cats. I'd love to see that number below 60.
K-State is currently giving up a TD every 35 offensive snaps for the opponent.
Yards per play (offense): KSU: 6.6 WVU: 6.6
Points per play (offense): KSU: 0.618 WVU: 0.571
Yards per play (defense): KSU: 4.6 WVU: 6.5
Points per play (defense): KSU: 0.258 WVU: 0.518

Add to your consideration of those numbers that K-State has played a tougher schedule, highlighted with Miami, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
We all saw WVU's two best wins, Texas and Baylor.

I think Kansas State wins for two reasons...
A- I really do not like Holgorson's game management. 7 fourth down attempts last week, 3 in the red zone, 2 in his own half of the field. That's flat out reckless coaching. I'm all in favor of coaches taking risks, but they have to be calculated, risk vs reward decisions. There's two kinds of gambles, well thought out poker decisions, and crapshoot rolls of the dice.
B- Yards per carry averages can be misleading somethings. A running game can get stuffed for minimal gain 90% of the time, and bust one big running play to skew the average and make it look like they averaged 5 yards per carry. While another running team can literally get 5 yards every time they touch the ball. The difference between those two offenses is that one is going back to the sidelines after 3 plays while the other is staying on the field for 5 minutes at a time. I think KSU will be the latter, WVU will be the former.
One thing that scares me for KSU, slow starts. I do believe Smith gets his rhythm back this week, so you gotta capitalize early and not let WV get out to a 10 or 14 point lead or it'll just be an uphill battle all night.

LM is really lovin the stats this season. I always do. Unfortunately, in some ways, this Wildcat season has sucked me in more than many, and I've put too much time into finding this sort of stuff.

Kansas State is a legit national championship contender now. I'm not skeptical of this team anymore! I wondered how high their ceiling really is this season, I wondered if they are a conference championship contender but not much more, but absolutely have what it takes to go undefeated.
Now comes the hard part. They had their national coming out party last weekend, now they have to wear the big, giant target on their back for the last 5 weeks of the season. Every game left on their schedule is dangerous, and every one of those teams will give KSU their best effort of the season! Running the November gauntlet with a top 5 ranking is a tall order, many a team in the past could not do it.

On the flip side, what the hell is going on with West Virginia!?!? Seriously guys, pick your ass up, dust yourself off, and get back to what you do best! I know they came in thinking they were just gonna own the Big 12, but they ran into a couple good teams and realized it's going to be harder than they thought. They're good enough to play in this league though, they just have to put these games behind them and move on. Not pout like little 8 year olds. Every single one of us in this conference has taken one on the chin the way they have the last few weeks, but we got up and fought through the next game. They need to do the same thing!

Every single one of us in this conference has taken one on the chin the way they have the last few weeks, Not everyone has taken one on the chin. K-State has a huge test this weekend with Tech, and will be tested at TCU. The 'Cats will be favored in every game the rest of the way. I've seen one prediction that that gives K-State a 70 to 83% chance to win each game, which comes out to 25% to win them all. It's still more likely that K-State loses a game than that they don't.

I didn't mean this year. I meant that in this conference, you're going to shellshocked every once in a while, so you have to put it behind you and get ready for the next game. Just last year, KSU got smacked at home by Oklahoma, then they brushed it off and only lost once more all season. WV needs to learn this lesson, you're gonna get embarrassed sometimes in the Big 12, but you forget it and move to the next one. Also, when you embarrass somebody else, which they're going to do many times as well, you forget about that one too and move on. These are those growing pains we talked about WV having in this season, we expected them to learn the hard way and they are.
