Kingsbury definitely has a lot to learn about running the whole program. There's no hiding that fact.
Throwing the ball with 1:00 to go like he did against West Virginia last week is definitely a double edged sword. One the one hand, it's great to send the vote of confidence to your team, and who doesn't love the play-to-win attitude. On the other hand, that very well could've been picked off and you'd only have a 3 point lead to guard.
The other thing is that he hasn't had to handle adversity yet. Everybody loves a "players' coach" who's lenient and not always screaming. What happens when his players get in trouble though? How will he deal with player arrests? What's he going to do next spring or summer when he has to name a starter between two freshman QB's who've proven they can play, and an upperclassmen who's arguably better than both?
You always gotta strike while the iron is hot in sports, you never know when an opportunity is going to be there. The schedule has TOTALLY opened up for Tech this season. We're 7-0 with 3 winnable games ahead, you can't take that opportunity for granted! Many o' team much, MUCH better than Tech would kill for the wide open opportunity that Tech has right now.

Well damn! That was a helluva game, we just couldn't quite make the play we needed! We had sooooo many. Hanes to make a play and just never could find someone to make it! Hats off to OU for making theirs. I counted at least 4 key 3rdd own conversions for OU that were significant, a dropped INT by a Tech DB, a fumbled first down reception, and a dropped pass turned INT. We had our chances, plain and simple!
The description of Tech that I gave after the ISU game was true today, a better team would punish Tech for the mistakes. OU was the team to punish us. We made too many little mistakes, OU made us pay. Despite that, I was proud of how we fought back and took it to the wire. This was a fair result for Tech. It validated the good work we've come this year, but also showed the distance we still have to go in order to be a real contender. Next week is key, win and 9-3 or 10-2 is still in play. Lose and it's the same ole 7-5 type seasonas always!
