What I really hate, is that the SEC doesn't play ANYONE out of their conference. They've completely insulated themselves, so that any loss in conference doesn't really matter, because we all just assume that they're great.
I think Florida would be 3-6 in the Big 12 this year. Almost anyone below Alabama and Georgia would have multiple losses with a 9-game Big 12 schedule.

They don't play anyone IN conference either! Have you looked at the SEC standings lately? Did you realize that there are still 3 teams in the conference who have yet to win a conference game? Halfway through November, only two games left in the season, and Auburn and Kentucky are 0-7 in conference play and Tennessee is 0-6. Three other teams have 2 wins, one has 3 and another has 4. The bottom 8 teams in the conference have combined to win 13 games! That's an average of just over 1.5 wins.
Let's look at the top 6 teams who the media is currently gushing over, all their losses are to each other. How many games did Alabama and Georgia play against the other contenders? TWO! That's right... TWO! That means SIX of their 8 conference games were played against teams who average less than two wins! Is it any coincidence they're the two highest ranked teams in the conference? What about the other 4 teams in the bunch, two teams play 3 of the contenders, two teams played four of the contenders. Nobody played all 5 of the others. So I'm sick of hearing how grueling and grinding the SEC schedule is, it's NOT! The total number of wins for Georgia's 7 SEC victories opponents are 0, 0, 0, 2, 3, 4 and 7, how is that schedule a grind? Alabama's are 0, 0, 2, 2, 2, 3 and 4 (assuming a win over Auburn). How is that schedule grueling? How did the SEC convince the rest of the country that wins over their bottom feeding mouth breathers are so impressive that it should vault all 6 of them into the top 10?

WVU still has Kansas on the schedule, so they should make six wins. I completely agree about the awful way media responded to the WVU/BU game. Everyone thought that was just awesome and G. Smith was going to win the Heisman because of it. It still makes me sick to my stomach. Oklahoma will probably do this as well, but K-State has now beaten last year's Big 12, Big East and MWC conference champions. lol, we have definitely beaten ourselves some this year.

CP, you know you weren't last year's Big 12 champ, right?

I'm so freakin' nervous! I'm not nervous because I think Baylor poses a great threat to K-State, less than just about any other Big 12 team. I'm nervous because of the situation that this K-State team finds itself in. I'm not nervous that this group can't handle the pressure, either. I think they're amazingly mature.
I'm just freakin' nervous! AhHHH!

If you mean December 1st, yes. After that, I'll be settled into whatever is K-State's bowl destination.

So if Kansas State makes it to the championship game, you're going to be "settled"?! I call shenanigans, you're going to be on edge for a whole month!

Well, we can pretty much close the book on Tech this season. The defensive improvement was the result of a terrible non conference schedule, and the offense has been as erratic as ever. OSU is killing us, and its every bit the blowout the score shows. All three phases of the game have been a mismatch.
I don't get this team! They don't lack talent, they have good coaches, and they've shown they can beat good teams. OSU is not more talented than us, but they've beaten us by 98 points in the last two years. There's a fundamental problem in our program somewhere that the coaches are oblivious to. We can't develop talent, we can't stay healthy, and we can't keep our composure. There's just something wrong with the program.

In other news, KSU pulled a choke job and is likely out of the NC picture and OU came very close to doing the same thing(choking).

Yes, Kansas State is out of the race. You can't lose that big, that late in the season. I feel for ya Lynch, right square in the heart!
It just seemed like KSU was pressing from the very beginning, Baylor scored early and KSU was trying to go point for point from the start instead of just playing their game. They went to e deep passes instead of just letting them happen.

Thanks, archi. It was literally unbearable. K-State still has a lot to play for, Big 12 Championship, National Coach of the Year, Heisman Trophy.... and a very, very, very faint chance left to play for the BCS Championship.
It was an extremely painful night, but I think I'm coping well.

Big 12 is very good at devouring its own. ND & SEC are big winners.

Kansas State has a faint shot at the BCS championship. I thought they'd fall farther than #6 in the BCS rankings, but they didn't so they still have a chip and a chair. You need 3 of the top 4 teams to lose. One will happen anyway in the SEC championship game, so you need USC and Florida State to help you out. I think FSU gets it done against Florida, so it's really on USC to knock off ND. After that, you just have to get by Oregon. Here's the leap of the faith though, Oregon doesn't control their own destiny in the Pac 12 North, if Stanford wins this week Oregon is the North runner up. Do they hold off KSU if they don't even win their division? I don't think they do.
It's all a long shot, but it's happened before. Teams have lost Thanksgiving weekend and still gotten back in the championship game.
